FILM SCREENING Tuesday 13th October KANTANTA TAKWA – the incredible story about Indonesia’s most popular band SUAMI and its leader Iwan Fals. Recently screenned at the Brisbane International Film Festival. We open the doors at 7pm
And its time for smoochy smoochy with KISS CLUB pashing its way onto the faux stage at Bill+george on FRIDAY 16TH OCTOBER. 730PM for an 8pm start.
Meanwhile TUK in Salatiga is getting ready for an invasion of Australian artists. Check out Festival Mata Air which happens this weekend. Sik yo!

1. LOCKSMITH PUBLICATION DEADLINE
Submissions due Friday 9th October, 2009. Locksmith Project is an independent, curated publication of local, national and international artists? ideas and writing. Locksmith Project provides artists and writers with the opportunity to experiment with works in progress, initial ideas, research, sketches, plans and basically anything that constitutes making art work. Each issue of Locksmith Project is a limited edition of five hundred copies and is printed in Australia on 100% recycled paper using soy based ink. 4. Like to help make ‘2042: art on the street’ Happen?
2042: art on the street is a free annual art event presented by Inner West Cultural Services. To be held in Newtown Square 10am-4pm Saturday 24 October and 10am – 9pm Sunday 25 October. www.2042artonthestreet.com.
This year, for one weekend, we are turning the heart of Newtown into a giant colouring-in book just waiting to be coloured in and filled with photos, stories, drawings, paintings, poems…. by Newtown’s creative community.
We are looking for creative people to help straight away to create wallpaper paste-ups.
Tasks – screen printing; cutting paper stencils; arranging and gluing shapes onto paper to create wallpaper.
Work with Collider and Makeshft in a workshop environment (just off King St).
If you can spare a couple of hours or a day, every little bit helps; we’d love to hear from you!
Workshop times:
Wednesday, 7 October 11am – 5pm
Saturday, 10 October 10am – 5pm
Sunday, 11 October 10am-3pm
